The Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs created a huge Ravana made out of plastic waste across five cities in India, including Delhi, Noida, Lucknow, Raipur, and Ahmedabad, which was installed and disposed of mechanically in a cement plant coinciding with Dussehra festival. The intent was to personify Ravana in its plastic form as a demon, bad for the society and environment. This initiative also highlighted the role that the Cement Industry can play in helping overcome the menace in its plants in an environmentally friendly manner.
